Transfer eSIM : Apple launches a new iPhone every year. Now who does not like to use the latest iPhone? Transferring WhatsApp or data from one iPhone to another is quite easy. However, the problem is with the e-SIM. If you are using e-SIM in iPhone, then you may find it difficult to transfer e-SIM to your new iPhone after getting a new iPhone, but the process of e-SIM transfer is also very easy. Here we have told you how you can easily transfer e-SIM from one iPhone to another. We have explained the complete process step by step.
How to transfer eSIM?
- For this go to Settings > Mobile data > Set up mobile service.
- Here you will be shown all the mobile numbers of e-sim and physical, which you use in your iPhone.
- Now if your telecom operator does not support automatic eSIM transfer, then you will see ‘Transfer Not Supported’ written just below your number.
If this happens then you have to contact your telecom operator. If you use a Jio e-SIM, you need to download the My Jio app, verify your email ID, and send the text GETESIM to 199. If you are an Airtel user then send the text ‘eSIM to 121’ and if you are a Vodafone Idea user then send the text ‘eSIM to 199’. Once this is done, you will get a verification email that your eSIM transfer is in process.
How to automatically transfer eSIM?
There are two ways to transfer the eSIM – one using ‘Transfer from nearby iPhone’ and the other using ‘QR Code’.
- For this go to Settings > Mobile data > Set up mobile service. Tap on ‘More Option’ at the bottom of your screen. You will see two options – ‘Transfer from nearby iPhone’ and ‘QR Code’.
- If you select the ‘Transfer from nearby iPhone’ option, you will get a notification on your old iPhone. Tap on Continue and enter the verification code on your new iPhone. Once this is done, your eSIM will be transferred.
- If you choose the QR Code option, then you have to call your telecom operator and ask for the QR Code from them. Scan the code using the camera app. When the Cellular Plan Detected notification appears, tap on it. Then tap on Continue at the bottom of your screen and add your data plan.
Note : You must have an internet connection to transfer the eSIM. Along with this, both your old and new iPhone should have iOS 16 or later versions.
