Google’s Bard: Google needs everything that is available on the Internet. That is, your reviews, talks, tests, people’s choices etc. all the things which are present in the public domain are all that Google needs to train its AI bot. As Gizmodo reports, Google’s updated privacy policy states that the company will use all publicly available information to improve and train its products and services such as Google Bard, Google Translate and Cloud AI capabilities. The report states that the Internet has become an AI playground for Google and other companies from where they are training their AI tools.
Musk put restrictions on Twitter for this reason
In one way, where Google will improve its AI tool with the help of internet data, on the other hand it is also being said that companies are taking advantage of the opening of the internet. That is, they are taking wrong advantage of the data available in the public domain. Elon Musk removed Twitter from the open platform for fear of data scraping so that no one could use its data to train their AI tools.
It is also being said that the purpose of Reddit’s new API fees is also to prevent companies from using the data of subreddits. The use of public data to train AI tools has sparked a debate about the copyright aspect and how only a few entities control the entire Internet, and people are fiercely voicing their opinions on it. Some are telling it right and some are wrong.
Let me tell you, along with removing Twitter from the open platform, Musk has also imposed a read limit. Under this, users can read only a few posts in a day.
