Pakistan Occupied Kashmir: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday (May 1) said that retrieving Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and making it a part of India is on the agenda of the government.
In a meeting with students and social groups of Jammu and Kashmir origin living in London, he said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi After taking office, he has tried to “correct many mistakes made in the past by various governments after 1947”.
The feeling of belongingness among the people of Jammu and Kashmir
The Union Minister, who is on an official visit to the UK, said that the abrogation of Article 370 has created a sense of belonging among the people of Jammu and Kashmir and they have got equal rights with their counterparts in the rest of the country.
…so the issue of PoJK never arises
In an official statement issued here, Minister Jitendra Singh said, “If the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had allowed the then Home Minister Sardar Patel to handle Jammu and Kashmir like other princely states of India, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir would not have been there today.” Would have been a part of India and the issue of PoJK would never have arisen.
Reconciliation of PoJK with India is on the agenda
He said, “Taking back the PoJK from Pakistan and integrating it with India is on the agenda of the government led by Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party as a political party.” Jitendra Singh is on a UK visit this week.
During this, he has focused majorly on research collaboration between India and UK in the field of ‘carbon capture’ and space technologies during his visit to Imperial College London.
At the same time, Minister Jitendra Singh said that the Indian vaccine market, which has made its own place globally, will be valued at Rs 252 billion by 2025. He also called for increasing cooperation between the two countries in the field of bio-technology startups and vaccine development.
