Gang rape, blackmail and suicide attempt! Father saved daughter’s life, accused caught by police

Visakhapatnam Law Student Gangraped: A law student was gang-raped by four youths in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The victim’s lover was also included in these four accused. The incident happened in August this year. According to the police, the accused also blackmailed the student by making an obscene video of her. Hurt by the incident, the victim tried to commit suicide on November 18, but her father saved her in time. After this the victim narrated her ordeal to the family and a case was registered.

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi has identified the accused as the victim’s boyfriend Vamsi and his three friends. Vamsi and the victim were in a relationship for the last one year. On August 13, 2024, Vamsi took the student to his friend’s room in Krishna Nagar and sexually assaulted her. During this time, one of the accused also recorded his video.

Gang raped by threatening to leak video

The accused threatened the victim to leak the video and then gang-raped her. Based on the complaint of the victim, all the accused were arrested on Tuesday. Police have registered the case and sent the accused to judicial custody. A case has been registered against the accused under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67(A) of the IT Act 2000-2008.
