In fact, a shocking case of commission embezzlement in government schemes has come to light in mass marriage in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister’s mass marriage was organized in Basti on Tuesday (26 November), in which 543 poor daughters were married. It is alleged that during this period, fake items were distributed as gifts to the daughters invited to the wedding.
During the wedding, when the bride and groom and their family members saw the gifts given to the daughters by the Social Welfare Department, they were shocked. The poverty of these families was made fun of by flouting rules and norms.
Sisters are being given fake goods
The jewelery given by the government included fake anklets, the items given for make-up included fake cooker, lipstick, mirror, utensils and sarees of poor quality. Under this scheme, the social welfare officer and the contractor jointly distributed the amount received from the government.
As soon as Hindu organizations got the news of this, they reached the spot. The District President of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh reached the spot with his team force, where he examined the gifts being given through the Social Welfare Department and found that almost all of them were found to be fake. Even the anklet was handed over as fake. After this there was an uproar and many brides protested against it.
These things are available under the scheme
According to the government rules, under the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme, daughters from families who are very poor and cannot afford the marriage are selected. Along with gifts, he gets Rs 51,000 for living from the government.
ISI registered jewellery, cooker, makeup items, saree whose length is not less than 5 meters and other items are given as gifts. But in order to earn commission, the contractors and officials together reduce the quality of the goods, so that the commission money can reach their pockets.
Hindu Mahasangh made this demand
The District President and General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, who exposed the commission taking in the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, said that the poverty of the poor daughters is being made fun of, there has been massive corruption in the gifts received by the government and they have been deprived of the money. Fake goods were given.
The District President of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh has demanded that an investigation be conducted into this matter. He has also demanded strict action against the social welfare officer and the firm responsible for taking commission.
DM assured action
When a complaint was made about this entire incident to Basti District Officer Ravish Kumar Gupta, he said that if the daughters have been given goods of poor quality, then action will be taken after investigating the same. DM Ravish Kumar seemed angry with this action of the social welfare officer and asked for immediate investigation and action.
