Along with this, the administration has also declared a holiday on 31st October on the occasion of Kali Puja.

Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan?

Two days holiday has been given in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Diwali. All government offices and schools will remain closed on November 1 and 2. There is a trend of decorating with lamps especially in rural areas. This time in Bihar there will be two days holiday on Diwali. There will be a holiday here on November 1st and November 2nd. Along with this, holidays can also be extended for Chhath Puja. There will be a three-day holiday on Diwali this year in Rajasthan. Government offices will remain closed from October 31 to November 2. There is a special tradition of earthen lamps and traditional decorations here.

When is the holiday in Karnataka, Kerala and other states?

There will be two days holiday on Diwali in Karnataka. On November 1 and 2, people will celebrate this festival in traditional style. Here Diwali is also specially celebrated as ‘Balipdayami’. Diwali does not have that much impact in Kerala, but still there will be one day off here this year. There will be main Diwali holiday on 1st November. In small states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Odisha etc., there will be a holiday of one to two days on the occasion of Diwali. Here holidays are determined according to local traditions and customs.
