Pocso case: A court in Mangaluru sentenced the convict to 20 years rigorous imprisonment in the rape case of a minor. Justice K. S. Manu has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on 24 -year -old Mohammad Sadiq.
Public Prosecutor K. Badrinath Nayari told that this case is of May 2023. Mohammad Sadiq first befriended the girl and then raped her. The court was told that Sadiq befriended the 14 -year -old girl with a phone number and then increased the close. After this, he pretended to marry the girl and raped her, which made the victim pregnant. On the basis of the complaint, Bantwal Town Police has registered a case of rape under the Indian Penal Code and Poxo Act against the accused.
Accused Sadiq sentenced to 20 years
Public Prosecutor K. Badrinath Nayari told the court that after the rape incident, the victim also gave birth to a child. During this entire process, the police immediately took action and registered a case against the accused in view of the physical and mental condition of the victim. Public Prosecutor K. Badrinath Nayari said that 20 people have testified during the trial. These people played an important role in proving the case.
On the basis of testimony and other evidence, the court convicted Mohammad Sadiq and sentenced him to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and also ordered the District Legal Service Authority to provide compensation of Rs 6.5 lakh for the victim for her mental and physical trauma. So that the victim can get some relief in this difficult time.
