Assam flood: Severe flood continues to wreak havoc in Assam. Due to the flood, a situation of trahimam has been created in the entire state. The flood situation in the state worsened severely on Wednesday (June 21). Because of which about 1.2 lakh people in 20 districts of the state have been affected. Floods occur every year in Assam. This state is the most flood affected state of the country.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, over 34,000 people in nine districts were affected by the floods till Tuesday, but the situation worsened on Wednesday. According to the authority’s report, more than 1,19,800 people have been affected by the floods in Baksa, Barpeta, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and Udalguri districts of the state.
Nalbari is the most affected district
Assam State Disaster Management’s report states that Nalbari is the most affected district of the state. According to the management, around 45,000 people are suffering in Nalbari. After this, more than 26,500 people are affected in Baksa and more than 25,000 people in Lakhimpur.

To save the people in the state, the administration is running 14 relief camps in five districts. Where 2,091 people have taken shelter and 17 relief distribution centers are running in five districts. Army, Paramilitary Forces, NDRF, SDRF and Emergency Services; Civil administration and NGOs have rescued 1,280 people from several places. The ASDMA report states that a total of 780 villages are submerged in water across Assam and 10,591.85 hectares of crop area has been damaged.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert due to heavy rains in the state. Along with this, rain has also been predicted for a few days.
