INDW vs WIW 1st ODI: Indian women’s cricket team has defeated West Indies by 211 runs in the first ODI match. In this ODI match played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. This decision proved costly because Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal gave a great start to Team India by making an opening partnership of 110 runs. Smriti contributed 91 runs, while Pratika scored 40 runs. Apart from them, Harleen Deol also played an inning of 44 runs and captain Harmanpreet Kaur also played an inning of 34 runs. Amidst all this, Jemimah Rodriguez also dominated, who played a cameo inning of 31 runs in 19 balls and made an important contribution in taking India’s score beyond 300 runs.
West Indies were badly crushed
West Indies had a very bad start while chasing the target of 315 runs. Both West Indies openers Hayley Mathews and Kianna Joseph were out on the score of zero. The situation was such that half of the West Indies team had returned to the pavilion by the score of 26. Shaman Campbell tried to avert their team’s defeat by scoring 21 runs and Effie Fletcher scored 24 runs, but considering the overall performance, West Indies’ defeat was certain.
