Odisha Minor Rape Case: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Odisha. A rape accused brutally murdered a minor victim after coming out on bail. The accused of raping a minor allegedly murdered her, dismembered her body and scattered the remains at several places in Sundargarh district of Odisha, police said."text-align: justify;">Accused Kunu Kisan was released on bail in the rape case involving the same girl. Police claim that he conspired to murder her to avoid conviction. According to officials, the girl was abducted from Jharsuguda and murdered in Rourkela. The victim’s missing report was lodged at Jharsuguda police station. The police started the search by uploading the photograph of the victim and she was seen with the accused in the CCTV footage.
The accused misled during the investigation
After the arrest, the accused first said that he threw the body in the Brahmani river. Later it was told that the body parts were also thrown in the muddy area near Hanuman Batika-Tarkera Dam. Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and police recovered several parts of the body from different places. According to the police, the accused had planned the murder to avoid conviction under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. After the murder in Rourkela, the body was cut into pieces and tried to hide them.
The accused confessed to the murder
During the action of the police and administration, the accused confessed to the murder. To recreate the crime scene, the police took the accused to the spot and recreated the entire incident. Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Himanshu Lal said "The accused later confessed that he had planned the murder to avoid conviction under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. After killing her in Rourkela, he cut her body into pieces and threw them in the river." Lal said, "We have recovered all the body parts. Considering the sensitivity of the case, we are conducting a speedy trial and will ensure that the accused gets strict punishment."
