Bihar News: After mushroom, a big initiative has been taken in the field of flower production in Bihar. Bihar Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey on Tuesday (26 November) flagged off a bus carrying flower growers for an educational tour in Medinipur, West Bengal. In this bus, 40 flower growers from 15 districts left for West Bengal. On this occasion, he also launched the Mushroom Kit Distribution Scheme by distributing the kits among the farmers of Patna district.
Flower production will get a boost in the state
It was told that the department has organized a tour of Medinipur and a training program to teach new methods of flower farming to the flower producing farmers of the state. Mangal Pandey said that in this two-day workshop, farmers from 15 districts of the state where marigold flower is mainly cultivated will participate in this training. Farmers have been sent to get special information about modern cultivation of flowers. This will boost flower production in the state.
Income will increase after training
Mangal Pandey said that it has been started on the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. By getting training, farmers will also be able to increase their income. The flower producing farmers who receive training will also be given the benefit of micro irrigation scheme for their cultivation to increase the quality of flowers. Those flower producing farmers who are willing to cultivate flowers in shednet will be given special priority in this scheme.
50 to 90 percent grant in mushroom field
Further, the Agriculture Minister said that a total of 8 lakh mushroom kits are to be distributed among the farmers in the financial year 2024-25, the financial target of which is Rs 440 lakh. Apart from this, the government is running the scheme of mushroom hut and air conditioned mushroom unit in this financial year. Under mushroom hut, a target has been set to construct 800 huts in a total of 38 districts and under air conditioned mushroom production unit, a target has been set for 20 units.
Mangal Pandey said that to encourage mushroom production, the government is giving 90 percent subsidy on mushroom kits. The State and Government of India are providing subsidy up to 50 percent for mushroom and air-conditioned mushroom production units in huts.
