Budget 2025: Now less than two and a half months are left for the presentation of the Union Budget for the financial year 2025-26. The budget will be presented on February 1, 2025. Burden of inflation on middle class
In recent times, it has been seen that the middle class is in trouble. Inflation rate figures for the months of September and October show that the burden of inflation has increased on the common people and especially the middle class. In October 2024, retail inflation has reached a 14-month high of 6.21 percent while food inflation has been around 10.87 percent of 11 percent. While announcing the results of the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25, many FMCG companies said that due to high inflation, the demand for FMCG and food items in urban areas will fall. It has had an impact.
Middle class in trouble!
The management of Hindustan Unilever Limited and Nestle India have accepted the decline in demand. Hindustan Unilever Limited said that there has been a decline in FMCG Demands in the urban markets in the July-September quarter. Nestle India has also had to face decline in demand in urban areas. The middle-class living in urban areas has cut down their expenses. Suresh Narayan said, people who have money are spending hugely. But the middle-class is feeling the pinch.
