Airtel-Jio Users: Telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel added a total of 1.98 million mobile customers in February, while Vodafone Idea lost 2 million customers during the period. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) gave this information in the data released on Thursday. According to this, the country’s largest telecom company Jio added the maximum number of 10 lakh subscribers in February. With this, the total number of its subscribers increased from 42.61 crore in January to 42.71 crore in February. Bharti Airtel added 9.82 lakh subscribers in the month of February taking its total subscriber base to 36.98 crore.

Vodafone-Idea’s condition worsened

On the other hand, Vodafone Idea lost 2 million subscribers and its total subscriber base came down to 23.79 crore. According to the release, the total broadband subscriber base increased by 0.02 per cent from 839.18 million at the end of January to 839.330 million at the end of February. The top five service providers accounted for 98.38 per cent of the total market share of broadband subscribers. TRAI said, “These service providers include Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (43.52 crore customers), Bharti Airtel (23.97 crore customers), Vodafone Idea (12.374 crore customers), BSNL (2.492 crore customers) and Atria Convergence (about 21 lakh customers) ” The total wireless subscribers declined by 0.09 per cent from 114.3 crore in January to 114.1 crore in February.
