Shortcut to 10000 steps per day: Staying fit amid changing lifestyle and eating habits has become a big challenge. Especially sedentary lifestyle is now increasing health risks. Especially the risk of cardiovascular diseases is increasing. The main reason for this is being too physically inactive. Which has become a big problem not only of any one country but of the whole world.
According to the World Health Organization, being physically inactive is the fourth leading cause of death across the world. Due to this, 3.2 million people die every year. This problem had increased even more during Covid 19. Because in the meanwhile people had no scope left for physical activity.

Are ten thousand steps necessary?
To remain physically fit, it is advised to walk ten thousand steps daily. But is this really necessary? According to the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, walking 3,867 steps a day can also prevent the risk of cardiovascular disease. Walking just 2,337 steps is enough to avoid the risk of death from this disease.
To reach this conclusion, data was prepared by talking to 226,889 people from 17 countries. After which it became easy to reach the conclusion that health benefits can be achieved even by following a few steps.
How much benefit from how many steps?
According to the study, just by walking a thousand steps every day, the risk of death due to disease reduces by fifteen percent. By walking another five hundred steps, the risk of cardiovascular disease increases to seven percent. The study has suggested that walking four thousand steps daily reduces the risk of death from any cause to a great extent.
After the age of sixty, walking 6 thousand to 10 thousand steps daily reduces the mortality rate by 42 percent. If young adults walk 7,000 to 13,000 steps, they can reduce this risk by 49 percent. This study was done jointly by cardiology expert Maciej Banach of Medical University of Lodz, Poland, and Professor Banach of Johns Hopkins University.
