England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the 15-member ODI team. This team will play the ODI series on the upcoming Indian tour and this team will also play in the Champions Trophy. The captaincy of the team has been handed over to Jos Buttler. Meanwhile, England’s Test team captain Ben Stokes has not been selected for the 50-over tournament Champions Trophy.
Joe Root will be returning to the ODI team after almost a year, who was last seen playing 50-over matches in the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. Talking about Ben Stokes, he recently suffered a hamstring injury during the Test series against New Zealand. For this reason, Stokes has neither been selected for the ODI series against India nor for the Champions Trophy. Fast bowler Mark Wood did not play in the recent series against Pakistan and New Zealand. He will also be making a comeback in the England team.
