It includes Sajeb, Khurai, Thongam, Leikai Baman Kampu (North-A), Baman Kampu (North-B), Baman Kampu (South-West), Baman Kampu (South-East), Khongman Zone-V (A ), Iroishemba, Iroishemba Mamang Leikai, Iroishemba Mayai Leikai and Khaidem Makha.
72 percent voting took place on April 19
Let us tell you that voting was held on April 19 for both the Lok Sabha seats of Manipur – Inner and Outer Manipur seats. Where 72 percent voting was recorded in Inner and Outer Manipur. During the election voting there, incidents of firing at many booths, vandalism of EVM machines and booth capturing were reported.
Three people were injured in firing at the booth center in Thamanpokpi of Bishnupur district. However, the police have not been able to find out who had carried out this attack. Due to incidents of violence, the Election Commission had declared voting at 11 booths invalid.
Congress had raised the demand for re-polling
However, Congress had demanded re-voting at 47 polling stations in the state, accusing them of capturing booths and rigging the elections. These included 36 booths of Inner Manipur and 11 booths of Outer Manipur. Due to these incidents, the Chief Electoral Officer of the state had already written a letter to the Election Commission for re-polling at 6 polling stations and had also appealed to conduct re-polling on these seats.
BJP has alliance with NPP-NPF in Manipur
In fact, BJP has emerged as the largest party in Manipur. Here BJP has formed an alliance with the state’s National People’s Party and Naga People’s Front. However, BJP has fielded its candidate only from Inner Manipur. Whereas, BJP is supporting Naga People’s Front in Outer Manipur.
