UP Punjab Election: Voting is to be held on 59 assembly seats for the third phase in Uttar Pradesh on February 20, for which the election campaign ended at 6 pm on Friday. Apart from this, in Punjab too, votes are to be cast on all 117 seats in a single phase on February 20, for which all the parties gave their all their strength during the election campaign in the state.
Voting in these districts in UP
In Uttar Pradesh, voting will be held in 59 seats in 16 districts in the third phase. The districts where voting will take place include Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Etawah, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur and Mahoba.
CM Yogi and Akhilesh Yadav applied force
On Friday, the last day of the election campaign, political parties in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab gave all their strength. UP CM Yogi Adityanath addressed public meetings in Kanpur, Mainpuri, Karhal and Unnao. He claimed in Kanpur, “Before 2017 there used to be a riot in Uttar Pradesh every third day. In 5 years more than 700 riots took place and hundreds of civilians were killed. There used to be months and months of curfew in the state but during our government in the state. There was no riot.”
Akhilesh Yadav is the candidate from Karhal seat in the third phase of elections. He said during the roadshow in Kanpur today, “Baba Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) could not catch the animals and their favorite animal roams the streets, far from running a laptop, they are not able to catch the bull.” Earlier in the day, Akhilesh Yadav addressed a public meeting in Jalaun. He said, “Whose There is a family, only one can understand the sorrow and pain of the family members. These BJP leaders who are ruling, have no family. Only a family member understands what inflation is.”
JP Nadda campaigned in Fatehganj, UP
Addressing a gathering at Lalbagh, Fatehganj, BJP President JP Nadda said, “When people come to you to ask for votes, then definitely ask them that it was your government, who had opened fire on Ram devotees. Asking the Congress also to hang it in the court.” Why did you people do this work? On Friday, JP Nadda also visited the construction site of Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Punjab Lok Congress President and former CM Captain Amarinder Singh held a roadshow in Patiala.
Congress released its manifesto today. In the party manifesto, the Congress has promised government jobs to one lakh people as soon as the government is formed. Apart from this, the party has also promised to break the monopoly of cable, provide free cylinders, free education and free health services. CM Charanjit Singh Channi, State President Navjot Singh Sidhu, in-charge Harish Chaudhary and Pawan Kheda were present on the stage during the release of the manifesto in Chandigarh.
When and when voting in UP?
Voting will be held in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh. Voting will be held in the first phase on February 10, in the second on February 14, while in the third phase voting will be held on February 20 and in the fourth phase, the voters will vote on February 23. After this, voting for the fifth phase will be held on February 27, for the sixth phase on March 3 and for the seventh phase on March 7. The results will be announced in all the states including UP on March 10.
