According to the report, in the beginning of 2024, the economy was estimated to grow at a rate of 7 percent. This was less than the 8.2 percent growth rate of 2023-24. Since India is one of the fastest growing economies worldwide, an estimate came out that India would become a $ 4 trillion economy by the end of 2024-25.
Indian economy will increase by 6.6 percent
The United Nations report states that the Indian economy is expected to increase by 6.6 percent in 2025. It is largely inspired by strong personal consumption and investment. The session is going to start with the President’s speech on 31 January and will run till February 13. The Union Budget will be presented on February 1, after which the counter -session will begin. After the President’s address, some laws like the Financial Bill and amendment in major laws will be discussed.
Why is an economic survey needed?
The Economic Survey helps the government take policy decisions and shows what economic problems the country is facing. In addition, it analyzes the economic performance of the last one year and suggests the possible policies of the future. The Economic Survey is usually divided into two parts. This includes data related to the performance of the economy, financial status and fiscal policies in the first part. Whereas, in the second part, socio-economic aspects related to education, poverty, health, infrastructure and human resources are analyzed.
