IPL 2023 Code Of Conduct Rules: In IPL 2023, from team captains to players, many players have been fined due to certain rules of the tournament. In this fine, the players had to pay lakhs. In this list, many players are included due to different crimes ranging from captain for slow over rate. Due to the slow over rate, for the first time the captains of the team have been fined Rs 12 lakh each. At the same time, other players have become victims of the ‘code of conduct’.
Millions of losses were caused by these captains.
Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya, RCB captain Faf du Plessis and Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson have been fined due to slow over rate. All the captains were fined Rs 12 lakh each for slow over rate. Faf du Plessis was fined in match number 15, Sanju Samson in match number 17 and Hardik Pandya in match number 18.
What is slow over rate rule?
Talking about the rule related to slow over rate in IPL, a target is set to finish every match in the tournament in 3 hours and 20 minutes. Due to slow overs, matches go on longer than their scheduled time. In such a situation, if the team is fined for slow over rate for the first time, then only the captain of the team is fined Rs 12 lakh. On the other hand, if a team is again found guilty in the slow over rate case, then the entire team is fined.
Due to these rules, the rest of the players were fined
Due to some other rules, Avesh Khan of Lucknow Super Giants and R Ashwin of Rajasthan Royals were fined. Avesh Khan was fined under ‘Code of Conduct 2.2’. This rule is about misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fittings. In the match played against RCB, Avesh threw his helmet on the ground after winning the match.
At the same time, Rajasthan Royals spinner R Ashwin was fined under Level 1 of ‘Code of Conduct’ 2.7. Under this rule- If someone publicly makes inappropriate comments regarding the match, then he is found guilty. During the match played against CSK, Ashwin commented on the umpire’s decision, due to which he was fined 25 percent of the match fee.
