Doordarshan Anchor Faints During Live News Reading: The temperature is increasing in most of the states of the country and people are getting troubled due to the heat. Doordarshan anchor Lopamudra Sinha fainted while reading live news amid the scorching heat in West Bengal on Saturday (20 April 2024). Sinha, who works in the West Bengal branch of Doordarshan, shared information about her health on Facebook.
Lopamudra Sinha said in her message, “During the live news, my BP went down significantly and I fainted. I was feeling sick for a long time. I thought that drinking some water would cure it. I never “I don’t even sit with water to read the news, whether it’s 10 minutes or half an hour’s news. I pointed to the floor manager and asked for a water bottle, but when I fainted, I couldn’t drink water.”
Suddenly darkness appeared in front of the eyes
She further said, “I thought I could finish the remaining four news stories. I somehow finished two. The third story was about the heatwave and while reading it, I slowly started feeling dizzy. I thought that I could finish it and tried to control myself, but suddenly I couldn’t see anything, the teleprompter went dim and my eyes went dark.”
Constantly increasing heat in West Bengal, alert regarding heat wave
The mercury in West Bengal has been high since the beginning of April. Panagarh in Burdwan district here recorded the state’s maximum temperature (42.5 degrees Celsius), while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that other areas of South Bengal will see further heat in the next two to three days. The department has also issued an alert regarding heat wave here.
Summer vacation declared in schools from April 22
Apart from this, on Saturday (April 20, 2024), day temperature was recorded above 40 degrees Celsius at places like Dum Dum, Midnapore, Bankura, Salt Lake, Canning, Kalikunda, Burdwan, Asansol, Purulia, Jhargram and Balurghat. The West Bengal government had declared holiday for state-run schools from April 22 due to heat wave conditions.
