West Bengal Panchayat Elections Violence: Politics has now heated up due to the violence in the Panchayat elections in West Bengal. Union Minister Smriti Irani strongly criticized TMC for the violent clashes that took place during voting on Saturday (July 8).
Not only this, the BJP leader also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and asked whether he found such incidents acceptable, as his party had recently announced the elections to be held next year. Lok Sabha ElectionsHas decided to forge an alliance with TMC.
Smriti Irani criticized Congress
According to the report of India Today, while talking to the media in Bhopal, Smriti Irani said, “The way people are seeing the murder of democracy in the panchayat elections of West Bengal. People are being killed for asserting their democratic rights, Congress is joining hands with the same TMC.”
Smriti Irani asked Rahul Gandhi, “Is it acceptable for the Gandhi family to join hands with those who are creating havoc in West Bengal? Does Rahul Gandhi accept this game of death?”
violence in many districts
At least 13 to 14 people were killed, dozens were injured and many polling booths were also attacked in the violence in Bengal’s rural elections. Heavy violence was witnessed in several districts of West Bengal including Murshidabad, Coochbehar, North 24 Parganas and Malda and ballot boxes were also broken in many villages of these districts.
Amit Shah and JP Nadda keep an eye on the violence
Home Minister Amit Shah also spoke to Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar regarding the incidents of violence. He inquired about the violence and the activists. BJP national president JP Nadda also spoke to the BJP leaders of West Bengal on the violence.
