On the day of Devuthani Ekadashi fast, one should not indulge in anger, violence, theft, gossip etc. Doing these things during Ekadashi fast causes harm to reputation. There is an inauspicious effect on income.

Betel leaf should not be consumed on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi. Actually, consuming betel leaves increases the tendency of Rajoguna in a person’s mind. Therefore, eating paan is prohibited on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi.

On the day of Devuthani Ekadashi, women should not wash their hair even by mistake. Cutting nails is also prohibited on this day, it causes blame and can hinder progress.

Tulsi Mata observes fast on Ekadashi. In such a situation, do not offer water to Tulsi Mata on Devuthani Ekadashi. Do not break the basil leaves; use only the already broken leaves in worship.

Do not have sexual relations with women on Devuthani Ekadashi, do not eat food in bronze utensils. Do not eat food at other people’s houses, nor borrow food from anyone.
