Himachal Pradesh News: Himachal Pradesh government has taken strict action against corruption. 10 officers including two XENs have been suspended in connection with the irregularities in water supply through tankers in Theog sub-division under Shimla district.
In this regard, former MLA of Theog assembly constituency and senior CPI(M) leader Rakesh Singha had held a press conference. He also wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary. Now big action has been taken by the state government in this matter.
‘Mistake’ of Rs 1.13 crore
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri holds the Jal Shakti department. Mukesh Agnihotri had also talked about taking big action against corruption. Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore has said that action will be taken in the matter. Now the blame has fallen on the accused officers in this case.
Himachal Pradesh government has also ordered a vigilance investigation into this entire matter. According to the information, this scam is worth Rs 1.13 crore. This was revealed through information received through Right to Information. According to the information received in the Right to Information Act, water was transported by bike, Alto and Bolero vehicles instead of tankers.

Claim of supplying water from Alto vehicle
Former head of Devrighat Panchayat Sandeep Verma had said in the press conference that according to the information he received from RTI, instead of tanker for water supply, in the bill, private vehicles like motor cycle, Wagonar, Alto car, I-10, Scooty, Pickup etc. Numbers are given. There are some areas where there are no roads. There also the supply of water from the vehicle has been shown. Former MLA Rakesh Singha alleges that payment has also been taken by making a bill for the Bolero vehicle of a horticulture officer.
Crores of rupees spent on water supply
Let us tell you that there are allegations of big scam in water supply in Theog of Shimla district. Every year there is water shortage in Theog during summer. During this time, water is supplied to the people through water tankers. Every year Rs 10 to 12 lakh were spent on this, but in the year 2024 this figure reached Rs 1 crore 13 lakh. After this, the attention of the leaders of the area went towards this and information was sought through RTI. Corruption was exposed after information received from RTI.
