Ladakh MP On LAC Agreement: After the agreement on LAC, the armies of India and China have retreated. Regarding the agreement, Ladakh MP Haji Hanifa Jaan has said that it is ‘difficult’ to trust China. He said this a few days after India and China reached an agreement to withdraw from various friction points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
According to the report of news agency ANI, Hanifa said, “Yesterday I was in Demchok, where I met the local people. It is difficult to trust China completely. The Indian Army and our government are honest in upholding the agreement, But China should also follow it.”
‘Do those living near the border know what war is?’
Meanwhile, Ladakh’s sole representative in the Lok Sabha, Hanifa Jaan, also said that only people living near the border know what war is like. He said, “Those of us who live near the border know what war is like. We want peace. We welcome the agreement, but we want to see it implemented on the ground. Through diplomatic means But tension should be reduced.”
Diwali sweets given at LAC
His statement came a day after the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) completed the process of withdrawal of troops in Depsang and Demchok. On Thursday (31 October) on the occasion of Diwali, both sides exchanged sweets at various border points in the Ladakh sector.
The border standoff between India and China in eastern Ladakh began in April–May 2020, triggered by Chinese military action along the LAC between the neighbours. Last week, after four years, India and China finally forgot their old issues and agreed to a patrolling agreement in this area.
