DGCA sends show cause notice to Air India CEO in Dubai-Delhi flight case

Dubai Delhi Flight Incident: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sent a show cause notice to Air India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Campbell Wilson. In fact, on February 27, during the Dubai-Delhi flight of Air India, netis has been sent to the CEO of the company in the case of a female friend of the pilot coming to the cockpit and not informing about it on time.

He told that a show-cause notice has also been sent to Henry Donohoe, chief of safety, security and quality operations of Tata Group-owned Air India. A flight crew member had complained to the DGCA that the pilot had allowed his female friend into the cockpit.

Violation of safety rules

A DGCA official said on Sunday that a show-cause notice was issued to Air India’s CEO and head of flight safety on April 21 itself for not reporting the incident on time. Safety rules were violated during the flight.

Apart from this, the investigation of the case was also delayed, the official said. Both the officers have been given 15 days to respond to the notice. At present, no statement has come from Air India.

Sources said, “The incident took place on February 27 and Campbell and Donohoe were informed about it on March 3. DGCA made the first inquiry on April 21, while Air India did not make any such inquiry before that. Earlier this month, the DCEA directed Air India to remove all crew members from duty (roster) till the completion of the investigation.

The airline had said on April 21 that it had taken the alleged incident seriously and the matter was under investigation. Unauthorized people are not allowed to enter the cockpit and it is considered a violation of the rules when it happens.
