Chinmoy Das Arrested: A petition was filed in the Bangladesh High Court on Wednesday demanding a ban on ISKCON amid the arrest of Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. The petition also demands imposition of emergency in Chittagong and Rangpur to prevent further unrest as protests continue in both the cities. According to The Daily Star report, the High Court wanted to know what steps the Bangladesh government has taken regarding the recent activities of ISKCON.
According to reports, the Bangladesh High Court on Thursday asked Attorney General Mohammad Asaduzzaman to inform the court about the steps taken by the government. The High Court has asked the government to take immediate measures to deal with the situation, which has raised concerns over the safety of religious minorities in the country. Actually, this situation has arisen after the arrest of prominent Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu at Dhaka airport on 25 November. The monk, who advocated for the rights and protection of religious minorities, has been charged with treason and denied bail.
More than 20 people injured in the clash

Reacting to the incidents, ISKCON condemned the arrests and urged the international community to intervene. “The United Nations should take steps to protect the minorities in Bangladesh. Regarding the dire situation facing Hindus in the country, an ISKCON spokesperson said that the ongoing oppression in Bangladesh is unacceptable.
