Delhi Pollution: After Diwali, the air in Delhi has become more poisonous. The pollution situation in the capital worsened on Saturday. Here the AQI once again reached the ‘very poor’ category. However, improvement was seen in the morning.
The 24-hour average AQI of the national capital was recorded at 316 at 4 pm on Saturday, which is more than 290 in the morning. Air pollution levels in Anand Vihar here reached the ‘severe’ category (AQI above 400), while 27 other monitoring stations in the city recorded AQI in the ‘very poor’ category, with levels above 300. The AQI in neighboring Ghaziabad (330) was also recorded in the ‘very poor’ category.

However, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Gurugram (209), Greater Noida (250) and Noida (269) had slightly better AQI levels and fell into the ‘poor’ category, while Faridabad’s AQI (166) remained in the moderate category. Despite people violating the ban on firecrackers on Diwali night, Delhi’s air quality did not reach the ‘severe’ category as expected due to favorable winds.

The Meteorological Department has predicted fog on Sunday morning and clear sky during the day. During this period, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
