South West Delhi Murder: Police arrested a 26-year-old youth for allegedly killing his roommate in South-West Delhi. According to the police, the name of the accused is Binay Lama, who is a resident of Tinsukia district of Assam. The accused was allegedly in an inebriated condition at the time of the incident. Police said that on December 12, the person of Resham Kumar (22) was declared dead by the doctors at Safdarjung Hospital. During interrogation, it was found that there were injury marks on the face and neck of the deceased. Police said that according to the postmortem report, the cause of death was due to strangulation. After this, a case of murder was registered in Kishangarh police station.
Three people lived together in a rented house
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West Delhi) Manoj C said that on the basis of electronic surveillance and CCTV footage, a suspect Binay Lama was identified. He told that a team was sent to Tinsukia in Assam to investigate the matter, where he was arrested from the airport of Lekhapani. The DCP revealed in the investigation that Sundar Sharma, deceased Kumar and accused Binay Lama lived together in a rented house in Kishangarh.
Police revealed in the investigation that the accused Binay Lama used to do housekeeping work in Chennai. He had come to Delhi on 6 December in search of a job. Here he came in contact with Resham Kumar and was living with the deceased for the last three-four days. A dispute started between them regarding some matter, after which the accused Binay Lama strangulated Ramesh Kumar. According to the police, they have recovered the clothes and other items worn by Binay Lama at the time of the crime.
