Delhi Assembly Election 2025 Schedule: The Election Commission released the schedule for Delhi Assembly elections on Tuesday (January 7). Voting will be held in the national capital on February 5 and counting will take place on February 8.
The tenure of Delhi Assembly is ending on 23 February. That means the government should be formed before this.
Notification for the elections will be issued on January 10. With this the enrollment begins. The last date for filing nomination is January 17. The date of scrutiny of nomination papers is 18th February. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 20.
Status of 2020 assembly elections
Assembly elections were announced on 6 January 2020. Then votes were cast on 8 February and the results were announced on 11 February.
In the 2020 assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had won 62 out of 70 seats. BJP won 8 seats. Whereas Congress’s hands remained empty. In the 2015 elections, AAP had won 67 seats. Then BJP had got only three seats. Congress’s hands remained empty even then.
In 2013, AAP formed a government in alliance with Congress, this government could not last long. Before this, Congress was in power in Delhi for 15 years. BJP has been away from power in Delhi for more than 25 years.
