Weather News: Many states have been submerged due to heavy rains. Situation like flood, landslide and water logging persists in many states. Amarnath Yatra has also been stopped due to the outbreak of weather in Kashmir.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday (July 8) issued a rain-related alert in many parts of the country. The department warned about heavy rains in many parts including Uttarakhand, Rajasthan (East), Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi for the next two days.
Alert in West India
IMD has predicted light to moderate and heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over Konkan, Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat till July 11. There is a possibility of heavy rain at different places in Saurashtra and Kutch.
Weather conditions in North-West India
According to the Meteorological Department, on July 8 to 10, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for the next 5 days. This can lead to landslides and water logging at many places.
delhi submerged due to heavy rain
Due to the heavy rains in the capital Delhi on Saturday (July 8), many areas of the city were submerged. The IMD issued an ‘Orange’ alert for rain in the city and a ‘Yellow alert’ for Sunday (July 9).
Alert in Himachal Pradesh as well
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rains in many districts of Himachal Pradesh. The rains have been predicted to continue in the state till July 13. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of flood in rivers in Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Sirmaur, Solan and Una districts.
At the same time, there is also a possibility of obstruction in the facilities of water, power supply and communication in the lower and middle mountainous areas. Let me tell you, according to the State Emergency Operation Center, Himachal Pradesh has suffered a loss of Rs 352 crore so far during this monsoon.
Weather pattern of East and adjoining Northeast India
Very heavy rainfall very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur during next 5 days. There is a possibility of bad weather in Bihar between 9 to 12 July, Jharkhand on 11 to 12 July and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during 8-10 July.
Seasons in Central and South India
Light and isolated heavy rains are likely to continue over Karnataka during the next five days. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in different states in central India.
