Delhi court finds father guilty of repeatedly raping daughter, sentences him to life imprisonment

Delhi Rape Case News: A Delhi court has sentenced a father found guilty of repeatedly raping his minor daughter to life and rigorous imprisonment. The court has said in its order that this case of rape is considered to be of the most cruel category. The court has also said in the judgment that life and rigorous imprisonment for the convict will act as a general deterrent. This punishment for the guilty father is right in terms of the standards of justice and also in the interest of the society.

Additional Sessions Judge Babita Punia was hearing a rape case against the man, who was earlier convicted by the court of rape and under Section 6 of the POCSO Act. This crime of the convict comes under the Protection of Children from Serious Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The victim was forced to give birth to a child

The court said that a father has the responsibility to take care and better upbringing of his child, but the guilty person forgot this and committed the most heinous act. The convict repeatedly raped his daughter, due to which she became pregnant. Not only this, she was forced to give birth to a child at the age of 17.

Order to give Rs 13 lakh to the victim

Keeping this in mind, the court said that the father accused of rape has been found guilty. Also sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment. Apart from life imprisonment to the guilty father, the court also ordered a compensation of Rs 13 lakh to the victim’s daughter. The court also said that the mental and physical trauma suffered by the victim after this incident can be gauged from the fact that she had refused to take the interim compensation given in the year 2022.
