Cyclone Dana puts brakes on Kolkata local train, no train will run here from this time on 24th – India TV Hindi

Keeping in mind the cyclone Dana, Railways has taken a big decision. Railways has said that no local train will run from Sealdah station after 8 pm on Thursday, 24th. Eastern Railway CPRO Kaushik Mitra said on Wednesday that 920 EMU locals run from Sealdah railway station every day. Also, 23 lakh people come to Sealdah railway station every day. Eastern Railway has also said that it will not operate 190 local trains in Sealdah division from Thursday night to Friday 10 am. The official said the step was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of railway passengers.

Winds can blow at a speed of 120 km per hour

According to the news, the weather office said that the cyclone is likely to hit the coast between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra port of Odisha early on Friday, during which winds can reach a speed of 120 km per hour. With the arrival of the cyclone, there will be heavy rains in many districts of South Bengal on 24 and 25 October. Eastern Railway (ER) official said the canceled trains include 13 up and 11 down trains in Sealdah-Canning section, 15 up and 10 down trains in Sealdah-Laxmikantpur section.

Apart from this, 15 up and 14 down trains in Sealdah-Budge Budge section, 15 up and 15 down trains in Sealdah-Diamond Harbor section, 7 up and nine local trains in Sealdah-Baruipur section and 11 up and down trains in Sealdah-Barasat/Hasnabad section. And nine down local trains are included.

when will the last train leave

The last train from Hasnabad and Namkhana stations (which are close to the coastal areas of North and South 24 Parganas districts respectively) will leave for Sealdah at 7 pm on October 24, the official said. He said that further decision regarding running of trains in Sealdah division will be taken after assessing the situation. South Eastern Railways had on Tuesday announced that more than 150 express and passenger trains running through its region have been canceled in the wake of the cyclone. Eastern Railway had also canceled about 198 trains passing through its area on Tuesday.
