But, 36 hours after this incident, the accused was arrested by the police.

The story begins with Prakash alias Omkarappa’s engagement. He got engaged to a minor girl. Since the girl was a minor, some unknown person informed the child welfare officers about this engagement. After which both the families were instructed to postpone the marriage for 2 years. The police also said that if both the families conduct this marriage, action will be taken against them under POCSO and Child Marriage Act. After this, an angry Prakash alias Omkarappa decided to kill the girl and went to her house and beheaded her. After that, he hid in the bushes near the house with the severed head.

After the murder he ran away with the severed head

After killing his minor fiancée on Thursday evening, Prakash ran away with her severed head and hid in the bushes. He hung the severed head of the minor on a mango tree 300 meters away from the crime scene. He was waiting for the road to be cleared. As soon as the place became deserted, he fled from there, but he left the knife used in the crime there.

He hid in the nearby forests. After this, the police started searching for him and started searching in Kumbaragadige, Garavale and Hammiyala areas. The police arrested Prakash and recovered the girl’s head and the knife from a bush near his residence in Kumbaragadige.

There was also a plan to kill the elder sister

After the arrest, the police also recovered a single barrel gun from Prakash. Police say that Prakash had planned to kill the deceased’s elder sister with that gun… who was against this relationship and did not even attend the wedding ceremony. The deceased’s elder sister lived in Garavale village. According to the police, the deceased’s elder sister did not attend the engagement.
