Modi And US Mega Event: Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event in New York on September 22, where he will interact with the Indian community. The mega event ‘Modi and US’ will be held at the Nassau Veterans Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Around 14 thousand people are expected to attend the event.
According to news agency ANI, all the seats for the event have already been sold out. More than 25,000 people had registered for the 13,000 available seats. As soon as the registration process opened, all its seats were booked within a few hours. Ganesh Ramakrishnan, a key organiser who mobilised volunteers for the ‘Modi and US’ event, told ANI that the enthusiasm for the event was clearly visible.
What is the preparation like for the Modi and US mega event?
He said, “The enthusiasm was palpable and the sheer number of people working together to make the event a success was truly impressive.” Cultural programme director Sai Sagar Patnaik said the event was a celebration of India’s diversity. “Like our welcome partners and attendees, the event will reflect India’s diversity with dance and music from the four corners of India,” Patnaik said.
Complete preparations to make the event grand
According to a News18 report, a total of 13,200 attendees will represent India’s religious, linguistic and cultural diversity. There will also be more than 500 welcome partners, 500 artists and performers, 350 volunteers, more than 150 media people, more than 85 media outlets and more than 40 US states.
Another organiser, Suhag Shukla, told CNN-News18, “The Modi and US event will be held on two stages. One is the main stage and the other is the outdoor stage. The main stage will host a cultural programme called Echoes of India – A Journey Through Art and Tradition, in which 382 nationally and internationally renowned artists will participate. These artists include Grammy Award nominee Chandrika Tandon, Star Voice of India winner and superstar Aishwarya Majumdar, Instagram’s dancing dad Ricky Pond and singing sensation Rex D’Souza.”
Apart from this, 117 artists will perform on the outdoor stage, who will entertain the people coming to the coliseum. There will be more than 30 classical, folk, modern and fusion performances which will showcase the rich and diverse cultures of India.
