Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) Test
Some tests have been prescribed by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) for the diagnosis of diabetes. Among these, the name of Fasting Plasma Glucose Test (FPG) comes first. In this, a blood sample is taken after fasting for eight hours. This test is usually done in the morning when the person gets it done on an empty stomach after being hungry overnight.

HbA1c test
The HbA1 test gives information about the blood sugar level of the last three months, not for a day or two. This test is usually done by diabetic patients so that they can determine their health parameters.
Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT)
This test is done to find out the condition of diabetes in pregnancy. In this first blood sample is taken and then glucose water is given to the patient and after two hours the blood sample is taken again. This test is called glucose tolerance test in common language.
