Cricket Ban in Afghanistan Taliban: The Afghanistan team has succeeded in making a deep mark on international cricket in a very short time. But now its desire to gradually become a top team has been hindered. Afghanistan currently has a Taliban government, which has already banned women from playing sports. Now according to some reports, it is being claimed that the leader of the Taliban has ordered a complete ban on cricket in the country.
Although no official statement has been made on this subject, this news has definitely created a sensation in the cricket world. It is also not clear yet when and how the ban will be implemented. It is also being claimed that people within the Taliban believe that the game of cricket is creating a wrong atmosphere inside the country and it is against Sharia.
Currently, the Afghanistan team is in India, where it was supposed to play a Test match with New Zealand in Greater Noida. But due to bad weather and poor condition of the ground, four days of play have been cancelled. Currently, the Test and ODI captain of the Afghan team is Hasmatullah Shahidi.
Many players including Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb ur Rahman have made a name for themselves at the international level through cricket. These cricketers earn a lot of money by playing franchise cricket around the world and have also brought glory to Afghanistan. The Afghan team has progressed a lot in cricket and even reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024. In the semi-finals, they had to face defeat against South Africa.
