A special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Mumbai city of Maharashtra has allowed former Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik, arrested in a money laundering case, to undergo a special kidney test. At the same time, before this, the special court last month also allowed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Malik to undergo a ‘renal scan’. But this investigation could not be completed because Nawab Malik was suffering from fever and other health problems at that time.

Let us tell you that ‘Renal Scan’ is a ‘Nuclear Imaging Test’. Which is done to check the size, measurement and function of the kidney. Along with this, this test is also done to check the blood flow in the kidney. While Special Court Judge R. N. Rokade on Tuesday accepted Malik’s application seeking permission to conduct the probe. on February 23 ED had arrested
At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Nawab Malik on February 23 this year in the money laundering case related to fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim. After which he is currently in judicial custody for the last several months and has been lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. However, the court had earlier rejected his bail plea on medical grounds. His regular bail plea is being heard by a special judge.
Inquiry will be held on 12th September
Malik, in his application, had said that he was allowed to undergo a kidney test on August 10 at a hospital in suburban Ghatkopar. However, the test could not be done then as he had high fever and was suffering from other health problems, the petition said. The prosecution did not oppose the petition and left it to the discretion of the court. After going through the medical report, the judge directed the Arthur Road Jail superintendent to take him to a test center in Ghatkopar’s Sarvodaya Hospital premises on September 12 for examination. In this case, the court said that the cost of the investigation will be borne by Malik only.
