Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: After the end of ED custody, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to jail till April 15. While appearing in Rouse Avenue court, ED did not demand further custody, after which the court took the decision and sent CM Arvind Kejriwal to jail for 15 days judicial custody. During this, he made it clear that he would not resign from the post of Chief Minister, but would run the government from jail.
It was requested by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that he has diabetes and due to this his immune system is weak. In such a situation, they are at risk of allergies and infections. Therefore, he has sought permission to keep the mattress, bedsheet, two pillows and quilt. The court has allowed this.
Demand for essential medicines and medical devices
Apart from this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also demanded essential medicines and a medical device to measure sugar during his stay in jail. Along with this, it was also said to keep sugar sensor, sugar sensor charger, sensor reader and glucometer for continuous monitoring. The court has instructed the jail authority to provide necessary medicines.
Not only this, the court has said that if the jail authority does not have these things available on time, then it will be able to use its own sugar sensor, sensor reader/glucometer.
The household’s demand for food and water was also accepted.
CM Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar level suddenly goes up and down, hence a demand was made to give him toffee, glucose, diabetes medicine etc. Apart from this, special diet and home-cooked food along with bottled water were demanded. The court has also allowed this.
Permission given for books and pens also
Chief Minister Kejriwal will be able to take his glasses while he is in jail. The jail superintendent has been asked to consider the request of CM Kejriwal, in which he demanded to be given books, notepads and pens. According to the jail manual, he will be given all these things. If the jail does not have these items available, they will be able to use their own books, notepads and pens. At the same time, during his stay in jail, he will be able to wear his religious locket which he is wearing now.
