Congress released the list of 16 candidates from Odisha, gave them tickets for the assembly elections.


Odisha Assembly Election Candidates: across the country Lok Sabha Elections Along with this, assembly elections are to be held in many states. Odisha is also one of them. Congress has announced the names of 16 candidates for the Odisha Assembly elections on Saturday (April 20).

There are a total of 147 assembly seats here. Earlier on April 2, the party had announced 49 candidates and then on April 14, 75 candidates were announced.

Who got the ticket from where?

According to the list of Congress candidates, Amita Biswal has been given ticket on VIP seat like Jharsuguda. Whereas Kshirod Chandra Patra has become the candidate for Badshahi seat. Vibhu Bhushan Raut has been given ticket on Sukinda seat while Sharad Kumar Pradhan has been made the candidate in Kantamal. From here, Sharad Kumar has got the ticket in place of the already announced candidate Manoj Kumar.

Similarly, on Jaydev seat, the party has made Krishan Sagariya its candidate in place of Jayant Kumar Bhoi. Whereas in Kavi Surya Nagar, ticket has been given to Sanjay Kumar Mandal in place of Vipin Bihari Swain. Similarly, Shipra Malik has been made the candidate for Kendrapara assembly seat. Whereas Gyan Ranjan Patnaik has been fielded from Pipli.

Odisha assembly elections will be held in four phases

Let us tell you that along with the Lok Sabha elections in Odisha, the assembly elections will also be held in four phases. The first phase of voting for the assembly elections will take place on May 13. After this, the second phase of voting will be held on May 20, the third phase on May 25 and the fourth phase on June 1. Nominations for the first phase can be filed till April 25 and candidatures can be withdrawn till April 29.

The dates for filing nominations and withdrawal of candidature in the second phase are May 3 and May 6, while in the third phase the dates are May 6 and May 9. In the last phase, candidates can file nominations till May 14 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 17. Along with the Lok Sabha elections, the results of the state assembly elections will also be declared on June 4. There are chances of a triangular contest between the ruling BJD and BJP as well as Congress candidates in the state. BJP and BJD are also continuously announcing candidates.
