Giving this information, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the candidates for Andhra Pradesh have been selected in the Central Election Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Candidates have been given tickets for 12 assembly seats in the state.
Candidates declared for these 12 assembly seats
The party has nominated Kali Kruparani as its candidate from Tekali seat, while Oela Venkata Varma Raju from Bhimali, Vasupalli Santosh from Visakhapatnam South, Lakkaraju Rama Rao from Gajuwaka and Gangaoharaswamy from Araka Valley have been nominated.
Similarly, Ruthala Sriramamurthy from Narsipatnam, Suisse Martin Lautier from Gopalapuram and Buohalajitha Rao from Yeragonopalem have been made candidates. Whereas on four other seats, Nalagorla Shiva Srilakshmi Jyoti from Parchur, Vijayeshraj Palaparthy from Santhanuthalapau, Ramesh Babu Oyyalla from Gangaohara Nellore and MS Babu from Puthalapattu have been made candidates.

When are elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh?
Let us tell you that voting will be held in one phase on 175 seats of Andhra Pradesh Assembly. According to the schedule released by the Election Commission, notification for the assembly elections in the state will be issued on 18 April 2024, while the last date for nomination is 25 April 2024… and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is 29 April. Voting for Andhra Pradesh Assembly will be held on May 13. On June 4, the results of Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections will also be declared.
Any party will need at least 88 seats to form the government in Andhra Pradesh Assembly. In the 2014 assembly elections, Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP won with a majority of 102 seats. Whereas in the 2019 assembly elections, YSRCP won with a thumping majority of 151 seats, while TDP was reduced to 23 seats.
