Mustard oil is being sold at Rs 154 per liter in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Mustard oil is being sold at Rs 175 per liter in Bihar. States like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh have the highest consumption of mustard oil. The southern states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu etc. have the highest consumption of coconut oil and Maharashtra and Gujarat have the highest consumption of sunflower, soybean, cottonseed, groundnut oil etc.

Know the rate of mustard oil according to cities
Mustard oil is being sold at Rs 154 a liter on September 1, 2022 in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, it is being sold at Rs 160 per liter in Ghaziabad and Noida adjacent to Delhi. At the same time, it is being sold for Rs 70 in Meerut, Rs 144 a liter in Aligarh, Rs 200 a liter in Kanpur. For the last few months, the price of mustard oil had reached around Rs 210. In such a situation, now a fall of above Rs 60 has been registered in it.

Exemption in customs duty and cess will be applicable
To control the rising inflation in the country, the government had cut Agriculture Infra and Development Cess and customs duty by 5% on edible oils like palm oil and soybean oil. This deduction was applicable till September 2022. According to media reports, this deduction has now been extended till March 2023. With this, people will now get relief from expensive edible oil for a few more days.
