Jharkhand Weather Update: Jharkhand is in the grip of cold wave since last one week. Due to the cold winds coming from the Himalayan region, a significant drop in minimum and maximum temperatures has been recorded in most areas. In view of the outbreak of cold wave, the district administration in Ranchi city has ordered to keep all the schools closed till January 7. After Christmas and winter vacation, most of the schools were scheduled to open from Monday (January 6).
In the order issued under the signature of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, it has been said that on January 6 and 7, all categories of government high, secondary and primary schools in the district will be completely closed. This order will also be applicable to all private schools in the district.
These are the instructions for the staff
The Deputy Commissioner has directed that headmasters and working teaching and non-teaching staff of all categories of government high, secondary, primary schools will remain present in the school at the appointed time during this period and will perform school related work.
No relief from cold wave for next two days
Ranchi Meteorological Center scientist Abhishek Anand said that there is no possibility of relief from the cold wave in Jharkhand for at least the next two days. People will feel cold due to the cold wind coming from the north-west. People have been asked to be cautious in the evening.

According to the weather center, the minimum temperature in Giridih, Latehar, Palamu, Simdega, Ranchi, Gumla and Lohardaga can go up to 6-7 degrees on Saturday-Sunday. In other districts the minimum temperature is likely to be between 10 to 12 degrees.
Temperature reached 3 degrees in Ranchi
On Friday, the minimum temperature of Kanke area of Ranchi was recorded at 3.3 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature of Chatra district was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Ranchi city was recorded at 8 degrees.
