Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday accused the Badal and Dhindsa families of joining hands to stall the work of the Medical College in Sangrur for their vested political interests. Condemned him. Talking to the media, he said that the ‘real face’ of these two families has come to the fore, as they do not want the common man to get the benefit of this upcoming medical college. Due to which he conspired to stop the work on this prestigious project.
The first academic session was to start in the Medical College from March this year.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Said that the government has decided to set up a state-of-the-art medical college in the memory of Sant Baba Atar Singh Mastouna Sahib near Sangrur, for which a fund of Rs 460 crore has been kept. Out of this Rs 460 crore, most of the funds have already been released by the government to start the work on the project. The Chief Minister said that the college was about to start its first academic session from March this year, after which the people of the entire Malwa region could get the best medical facilities in the region. CM Mann said that with its construction the youth of the region will have access to higher medical education and they will not have to go abroad.
SGPC was misused to stall this project
The Chief Minister said that apart from all these things, this Medical College will provide many direct and indirect employment opportunities to the youth of Malwa region. However, he claimed that the Badal and Dhindsa families put aside all their political differences to stall the ambitious project. He said that both these affluent families tried their best to stop this project by creating legal hurdles. Mann said that Badal misused the SGPC to stall this project, so that the common people continued to suffer.
