CM Bhupesh Baghel News: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate the 31st district of Chhattisgarh on September 3. This district will be separated from Rajnandgaon to become Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district and will take the form of a new administrative unit. The area of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district has been affected by Naxalism for a long time. After the formation of the new district, people will not need to go far for administrative facilities and at the same time development works will be accelerated.
This new district is going to start on 3rd September. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate the newly formed 31st district of Chhattisgarh ‘Khairagarh-Chhuikhdan-Gandai’ in a program organized at Raja Fateh Singh Sports Ground in Khairagarh at 1 pm. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will also gift 95 development works worth Rs 364 crore 56 lakh. Apart from this, material worth Rs 37 lakh 48 thousand will be distributed to 213 beneficiaries under various schemes.
Know how the new district will be
The newly formed Khairagarh-Chhuikhdan-Gandai new district will be under Durg division. The population of this new district is 3 lakh 68 thousand 444. The total number of villages is 494 and there are 3 urban bodies. There will be two sub-divisions Khairagarh and Gandai-Chhuikhadan. There will be 3 tehsils Gandai, Chhuikhadan, Khairagarh. At the same time, there will be 2 development blocks Chhuikhadan and Khairagarh, 16 Revenue Inspector Divisions. The number of revenue cases in this new district is 13 thousand 562, the total area is 1 lakh 18 thousand 183 hectares. Apart from this, there are 37,014 hectares of total non-maqbuja area, 1 lakh 55 thousand 197 hectares of total revenue area, total number of account holders, 1 lakh 53 thousand 663, 107 patwaris, 221 gram panchayats, 338 kotwars, 316 patels.
This district is full of forest produce
Minor forest produce is available in abundance in the dense forests of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district. By collecting Kodo, Kutki, Ragi, Bhelwa, Bahera, Kalmegh, Lakh, Mahul leaves, a large number of minor forest produce collectors are getting employment and economic benefits in these areas. More new avenues of development will open in this area. There will be administrative tightening in the works in the field of plantation, forest produce exploitation, Narva development, forest and wildlife protection and development-oriented facilities will be developed. Recently, approval was received for the establishment of Minor Forest Produce Processing Center under Gandai Forest Zone of Khairagarh Forest Division. This Minor Forest Produce Processing Center, which will be set up at a cost of Rs 70 lakh, will provide the means of livelihood based on forest produce and provide sustainable employment opportunities.
This district is also full of mineral resources
Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district is also rich in mineral resources, which will give a boost to industrial development. Limestone is a minor mineral available in the Khairagarh region. At the same time, minerals like quartzite, silica sand, briquette soil are available. At the same time, the main mineral limestone is available in the Chhuikhadan area. There is also a possibility of finding ordinary stone and iron mineral ores. The Siddhababa Reservoir Minor Irrigation Project, under construction by the government at a cost of Rs.220 crore 7 lakh 19 thousand, will change the picture of this area. Here 34 villages will be benefited from the project to be built in the Lamti river and 1 thousand 840 hectares of land can be irrigated. Opportunities for development will increase in the agriculture sector.
Irrigation area will increase from these reservoirs
Under the Surhi Reservoir Minor Irrigation Project, renovation, lining work and canal expansion are being carried out to increase the height of the West Weir and the expansion of the canal, due to which the area under irrigation will increase by 120 hectares. 91 villages are getting benefited from Pipariya Reservoir Medium Irrigation Project and 6 thousand 240 hectare area is being irrigated.
