Cotabato: A bloody clash broke out in a city in the southern Philippines between two Muslim guerrilla commanders and their supporters over a long-running land dispute. At least 11 people have died in this clash. Military and local officials gave information about this on Thursday. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the entire area.
There was a dispute going on regarding this matter
According to the information, on Wednesday there was a clash between two commanders of ‘Moro Islamic Liberation Front’ in a village in Pagalungan area in Maguindanao del Sur province. After the clash, the army, police and rebel front leaders later reached an agreement. But, after this again a violent clash took place in which people died. There was a long standing dispute over land between the commanders and their supporters.

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front is the largest Muslim separatist armed organization in the southern Philippines. Regarding the clash, Lieutenant Colonel Roden Orban, spokesman for the 6th Infantry Division, said that government forces deployed to protect civilians have recovered nine bodies. Five other fighters have been injured. Later, Colonel Roden Orban said that the death toll had reached 11. Soldiers have recovered five rifles from the clash site. (AP)
