Chinese drone again tried to infiltrate the Taiwan border, the army fired back

China-Taiwan Crisis: Tension between China and Taiwan is increasing continuously. When China flew suspicious drones over Taiwan’s airspace, in response, Taiwan fired at them to disperse them. According to the news agency Reuters, Taiwan’s military (Taiwan Troops) for the first time fired defensive shots to drive away Chinese drones near the coastal island. KDC has reported firing ammunition on Chinese drones for the first time.

According to local media, the Taiwan military announced on Sunday 28 August that Chinese soldiers or Chinese drones would be killed if they tried to infiltrate their territory despite warnings. Taiwan made this announcement after several Chinese drones were sighted around their border. Recently some photos and videos have surfaced on Chinese social media Weibo in which Chinese drones are openly violating Taiwan’s airspace and taking close-up footage of Taiwanese soldiers.

Taiwan Army fires back Chinese drone

The Kinmen Defense Command (KDC) said on Tuesday that a group of three Chinese civilian drones were found flying over Dadan Island, Erden Island and Xi Islet in Liu Township of Kinmen County, respectively, at around 4.30 pm. After which Taiwan soldiers fired signal flares on these drones and maintained surveillance and vigilance. After which all these drone UAVs disappeared while flying away from the islands in the direction of Xiamen, China.

KDC became more alert than before

According to the KDC, at around 5:59 p.m., another drone again entered the airspace over the restricted waters of the island of Erdn. Taiwanese soldiers again issued a warning to this drone according to the procedures. However, the drone kept circling the restricted area despite warnings. Soldiers fired defensive shots at the plane to drive it away from their range. After this the UAV took off towards Xiamen, China.

Since this incident, KDC has become more alert than ever and is monitoring the situation closely. The KDC said it would carry out a four-stage process to deal with the drones “playing a signal, reporting an intrusion, pulling out the drone but if the UAV doesn’t go out, it will be destroyed.”
