China is emptying India’s coffers, sends bills worth billions of rupees every year

Business will increase significantly in the year 2024

America was India’s largest trading partner in the year 2023. But, China has regained this status in the year 2024. According to the data released by the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) in May 2024 regarding trade, the bilateral trade between India and China in the financial year 2024 has been about $ 118.4 billion.

However, according to the latest data of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, from April to August in the current financial year (2024-25), America has overtaken China in terms of trade by a slight margin and is at the top. During this period, there was a total trade of 53 billion dollars between America and India, while the trade between India and China was 52.43 billion dollars.

How much money did China earn from India?

In the current financial year (2024-25), from April to August, China sent goods worth $ 46.6 billion to India. Whereas, India sent goods worth 5.7 billion dollars to China which is only 8 percent of the imports. At the same time, according to the data of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India’s imports from China stood at $101 billion in 2023-24.

According to the BBC report, if we talk about 2019, there was a trade of about 82 billion dollars between India and China. In this, imports were worth 65 billion dollars and exports were 16 billion dollars. Talking about 2020, this year there was trade of about 86.5 billion dollars between the two countries. In this, imports were more than 65 billion dollars and exports were 21 billion dollars.

Talking about 2021, this year there was a trade of 115 billion dollars between India and China. During this period exports stood at 21 billion dollars. But imports reached 94.5 billion dollars. In the year 2022, this figure will be 113 billion dollars. This year a huge decline of 28 percent was seen in exports. Whereas, imports reached 98.5 billion dollars. Talking about 2023, this year there was a trade of 118 billion dollars between the two countries. In this, imports were 101 billion dollars and exports were only 16.6 billion dollars.
