Mamata Banerjee On SandeshKhali Arms Recovery: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has finally opened her mouth regarding the recovery of a large quantity of guns and ammunition from the house of a close aide of Sheikh Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali. He said on Saturday (April 27) that there is no evidence of arms seizure in Sandeshkhali. He said that the CBI conducted the search without informing the state police.
He expressed doubts about the action of the Central Agency and said that the recovered weapons might have been brought in the car by the Central Agency (CBI) officials themselves. Questioning the action, CM Banerjee said that if any firecracker is burst in Bengal, then NIA, CBI, NSG are coming to investigate. It seems like there is a war going on.

She was addressing an election rally in support of TMC’s Asansol Lok Sabha candidate Shatrughan Sinha. Banerjee also said, “Today, I heard that an incident had taken place near Sandeshkhali. A BJP leader had stored bombs in his house. They (BJP) think they can get away with more bombs by canceling (school) jobs. We can win elections on the strength of our government. We need food, clothing, housing and employment for the people, not their big speeches.
CBI has recovered shells, gunpowder and service revolver from Sandeshkhali.
Let us inform that on Friday (April 26), CBI seized arms and ammunition during the search of two premises of an associate of former TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh in Sandeshkhali. It also contained a police service revolver and foreign guns along with live bombs. NSG team had arrived to defuse the bombs. He discovered and defused the bombs with the help of Caliber robot.
Regarding this, Trinamool has accused the Central Agency of being hyperactive to defame TMC at the time of elections. The searches were conducted in connection with the mob attack on an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team in January, which was carried out by Sheikh’s supporters. After his arrest in this case, Sheikh Shahjahan is in the custody of central agencies.
