According to media reports, a case has been registered against Imran Khan and his supporters on Wednesday (May 10) for attacking the residence of a top army officer in Lahore and setting it on fire. Significantly, on Tuesday (May 9), Imran Khan was arrested from the Islamabad High Court in a corruption case, after which Khan’s supporters were enraged.
PTI workers entered the General Headquarters
Supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan entered the General Headquarters of the Army on Wednesday (May 10). Attacking army vehicles and installations, they set fire to the Lahore Corps Commander’s residence. PTI President, Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other PTI leaders have been booked under murder, terrorism and 20 serious sections for attacking the Corps Commander’s residence.
Alleged robbery of 150 million rupees
After Imran’s arrest on Tuesday, his supporters attacked the Corps Commander’s residence, known as ‘Jinnah House’. Looting also took place during this period. After which Khan and PTI workers have also been accused of looting valuables worth more than Rs 150 million from Jinnah House.
It is alleged that 1,500 PTI workers attacked the army officer’s residence on the orders of Khan and senior party leaders. According to the FIR registered on Wednesday, two people have died during the violence. Let us tell that PTI supporters have blamed the army for Khan’s arrest.
