Campaigning for the sixth phase in UP will stop today, Yogi and Akhilesh Yadav will be face to face in Gorakhpur

The campaigning for the sixth phase of the UP assembly elections will end at 6 pm today. In the sixth phase, voting is to be held in 57 assembly seats of 10 districts of UP, Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria and Ballia. In this phase, the electoral fate of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be decided, who is a candidate from Gorakhpur’s Sadar assembly seat. On the last day of campaigning, there are election rallies of Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav in Gorakhpur.

In the sixth phase of UP, a total of 676 candidates are trying their luck in 57 seats in 10 districts. Last time i.e. in 2017, out of these 57 seats, 46 seats were won by BJP and two by its allies Apna Dal and SubhaSP. Then there was an alliance of Subhaspa and BJP. This time there is an alliance of SubhaSP and Samajwadi Party (SP). In the sixth phase, 11 seats are reserved for the scheduled castes. There are a total of 2,14,62,816 (two crore fourteen lakh sixty two thousand eight hundred sixteen) voters in this phase. This includes 1,14,63,113 male, 99,98,383 female and 1320 third gender voters.
